This true story begins with the birth of our granddaughter in the bathtub of our Las Vegas home on November 19, 1998. Her small-framed mother had decided to have a mid-wife assist in this home-birth. But the baby was coming and the mid-wife was stuck in a fast-food drive-through lane with no way out. So, ready or not, the child arrived, surrounded by myself, her frantic other grandmother and a calm grandfather keeping a lookout for the tardy midwife.
